谢和耐（Jacques Gernet， 法国， 1921- ）是法国20世纪下半叶著名的汉学家、历史学家、社会学家、法国金石和美文学科学院院士，法兰西学院名誉教授。他专事中国社会和文化史研究，著述等身，是法国汉学界的头面人物，也是一位承上启下的人物。他以传统但不保守的治学方法，既继承了考证派的某些传统，又极大地突破了他们的框框，在中国历史研究方面取得巨大成绩，开拓了法国汉学界的一代新风，在汉学界享有盛誉。谢和耐教授在汉学领域内一直勤耕不辍、著述颇多，这些著作每部都有多次重版或修订再版，并大都被译成西方多种文字出版，其中以《中国社会史》（1972）和《中国和基督教》（1982）两部著作获国际汉学界好评。
